1. Sizing

As we are a multi label store, the sizing specifications may vary between brands. Please refer to sizing charts available for each and every item under their item description. Do bear in mind that maternity and nursing wear already take into account your bodily changes and have already catered for extra room around the bust, belly and hip area, where you are expected to grow. There is no need to upsize. Just choose your size based on your current measurements.

 

2. Caring for the Clothes

For best results, follow the care instructions on the label sewn onto the garment. As a general rule of thumb, all maternity and nursing wear should be hand-washed in cool water and air-dried. Washing in hot water and spinning in a hot tumble dryer will likely result in shrinkage, due to the high percentage of spandex and elastane in maternity and nursing wear. Do lay the garments flat when drying to avoid overstretching. This is especially for those garments made of stretch fabrics. Dry cleaned garments should not be hand-washed but dry cleaned only.

 

3. Can I rent the clothes online?

At the present moment, the online store is for purchases only. All the items sold online are brand new. Rental of clothes and purchase of more pre-loved items can only be done in person at our flagship store Marina Square, #03-108. This is only a small range of what we have to offer. Please visit the main store at Marina Square for the full and extensive range. 4. How do I use my online gift vouchers?

Online gift vouchers may only be used online at www.maternityexchange.sg.  They can be redeemed for any item, including promotional items and rentals. Please note that we cannot accept online gift vouchers at our physical store.  If you wish to purchase an in-store gift voucher, please click here.

Validity Period: Vouchers are valid for 6 months from date of issue

Sending an online gift voucher:

  • At check-out, please indicate in the comments your recipient's name and email address.
  • If you wish to include a message, do indicate in the comments box as well.
  • After your order has been processed, we will proceed to mail the gift voucher to your respective recipient. We will also send you a confirmation email after doing so.

Using an online gift voucher

  • Vouchers will arrive in your email with a unique discount code. Please enter this unique discount code upon checkout to redeem your gift voucher.
  • If your purchase value is lower than that of the gift vouchers, the remaining amount will be recorded in your account, which you may use to offset future purchases.

 

5. How do I place an order?

To make an online order, please add the item/s that you wish to purchase to your shopping bag ("Add to Bag") All your orders will be consolidated in your shopping cart, which you may view by clicking the shopping bag icon  at the top of every page. When you have finished shopping, click "Checkout". If you have not registered, you will be directed to do so. Thereafter, you may choose your billing and delivery options, and make payment.

Stock Status – If an item is not in stock, it will say so and the system will not allow you to make a purchase. If by a rare chance, your order cannot be fulfilled, (as may happen when a "last piece" item is bought in the main store at the same time you are making your order), we will call you or send you an email as soon as possible to alert you. Any exchange or refund arrangements will be made from there.

Order Status – To track the status of your order, simply log into your account and click on "My Orders".

Changes to Order – Any amendments to the order will need to be made within 6 working hours of confirmation and payment, as we allow for 1 - 2 working days delivery for local orders. If you would like to make a change after your order is sent, we will be happy to accommodate you, however you will be charged the additional delivery charges.

International Orders 

For orders from Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan and Australia, our system will automatically calculate the shipping cost for your package and provide the breakdown for each shipping option. You can also enjoy FREE shipping with a minimum amount spend (via Singpost Air Parcel, delivery within 5-12 working days). Click here to learn more.

6. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept several payment options:

Deposit payment directly – which can be conveniently done via internet or ATM into Maternity Exchange's corporate bank account:

2. Credit Card (in S$) - Make payments online with your Visa, MasterCard or American Express Card. Maternity Exchange uses PayPal, a leader in security technology. When you pay with PayPal, your credit card and bank numbers are not revealed to us. 7. How do I determine my shipping options and charges?

Local Orders

For purchases of SGD100 and above, delivery to Singapore addresses will be FREE of charge via local courier. We offer 1-2 days delivery (including weekends and public holidays!)

*Purchases weighing 4 kg and above will not be entitled to free shipping. Additional shipping fees apply and will be invoiced to you separately. As a general rule of thumb, one piece of clothing weighs ~ 0.2kg.

For purchases less than SGD100, mode of delivery will be via:

Door-to-Door Courier Delivery - This is available at a low flat rate of SGD7.00 island wide for purchases up to 2.5 kgFor purchases weighing 4kg and above, additional rates apply. For order payments received by 12noon, please allow for 1 - 2 working days delivery. For order payments received after 12 noon, please allow for 2 - 3 days delivery. Delivery can be made between 10.00 am to 8.00 pm seven days a week, including public holidays.

Regular Mail - Flat items weighing less than 0.3 kg and are able to be placed in an A4 envelope can be shipped via regular postal mail for SGD3.00. Delivery will take between 3 - 4 working days. Do note that this option is not traceable, and Maternity Exchange will not be liable for any missing or stolen packages. We do encourage you to use the door-to-door courier option for peace of mind.

Self-Collection (No charge applicable) - 
Your order may be picked up at our retail outlet (at Marina Square #03-108, Singapore) during our business hours – 11.30am – 9pm (Sun – Thurs), 11.30am – 9.30pm (Fri –Sat).

International Orders

8. Can I gift wrap my order?

Yes you may choose to gift wrap your order. Simply indicate under the comments section that you would like your order to be gift wrapped. To purchase a gift card, please click here. You may include your message in the comments section upon checkout.

 

9. How do I track the status of my order?

10. Can I return or exchange my online order?

Yes! We offer a "No Questions Asked", "Money Back Guarantee" option should you be dissatisfied with your online purchase. You may also exchange the items for something else.

Please Note: All sale/discounted/clearance items, as well as lingerie and shapewear bottoms, are not eligible for exchange/refunds. Items sent back must be in new and unworn condition with their original tags attached . If you need to try on an item, please exercise good care by wearing a protective layer underneath. We reserve the right to refuse any items returned that do not meet the conditions stated. For health and hygienic reasons, we are unable to accept returns on underwear items and shapewear bottoms (excluding bras). This will be assessed by our team upon return and the decision is final.

IMPORTANT: Please email us the tracking number at sales@maternityexchange.sg when you have sent the item so that we know to look out for it. We will only process the refund once we have received the items.

Do note that all items must be returned to us within 10 days of receiving your online purchase. Overseas purchases must be returned within 20 days. They should be in a) original condition, unworn, unwashed, undamaged b) with price tag intact c) returned together with the invoice. All sale/discounted/clearance items, as well as lingerie and shapewear bottoms, are not eligible for exchange/ refunds. Delivery/shipping fees are to be borne fully by the customer and are not refundable.

1. What is the difference between buying and renting?

Buying clothes from our shop is no different from purchasing something from any other store. However, if you choose to rent, you get to pay a lower rental price for an item and return it after 4 weeks. You can rent up to 20 pieces of your choice under our specially-priced packages: Basic Instincts package, the All Essentials package or the Indulge Your Bulge package. You can also rent by individual piece, where you will pay the full purchase price first and be refunded the difference between that and the prevailing rental price when you return the outfit.

 

2. What are the advantages of renting?

Most women aren't willing to spend too much on maternity clothes, given their temporal nature. Many end up buying a few sets of maternity wear to last them throughout their pregnancy, or wear ill-fitting non-maternity wear in larger sizes. We at Maternity Exchange firmly believe that all mums-to-be deserve an expansive maternity wardrobe at an inexpensive price.

By renting, mums-to-be pay a fraction of the normal price for an outfit. So, they get to wear a variety of styles and designs from our shop, and return these clothes after they've outgrown them or have gotten tired of them. They can then rent new clothes in different styles or clothes that fit them better as their body changes throughout their pregnancy. In this way, mums-to-be can afford to keep changing their looks and the clothes they wear.

 

3.  Is it better to buy or rent?

It all depends on your needs and your budget. We want to give you the option to make the best choice! That's why you can choose to buy or rent at our store, and even rent first and buy later. Our staff will be happy to advise and help you get the best value for your money, and avoid any costly mistakes!

 

4. How does the rental package work?

You pay the upfront fee (e.g. $329 for 8 pieces) and you have one year to fully utilise each package. Each piece can be rented for 4 to 8 weeks. Any item that features a rental price on its price tag can be rented.

 

5. What condition are these clothes in?

We assure you that all our clothes are subject to stringent checks and careful laundering after they've been brought back. Clothes that do not meet our quality checks and deemed too old or worn-out will be taken off our shelves or marked down significantly. Clothes have their prices reduced after each rental automatically.We also have a constant supply of brand new outfits for rent or purchase, as we source for new stock all year round.

 

6. Can I buy brand new clothes?

Of course you can! We are constantly setting the trend with new styles from international brands coming in every month. That's why we have a wide selection of new clothes for sale or rent, and discounted pre-rented ones. Do note though, only brand new pieces are sold online. To rent, you need to come down to our physical store located here.

 

7. How can we tell which clothes are brand new and which are not?

We know it's hard to tell as our clothes are always in excellent condition! Still, a good way is to look at the price tags. Pre-rented ones are cheaper than the brand new pieces of the same style. Or just ask our friendly staff! They will be more than happy to check for you.

 

8. How long can I rent the clothes for?

Every outfit can only be rented for up to 4 weeks at a time. Unless prior arrangements have been made, a late fee will be charged on a per day basis. Your account will also be frozen temporarily and you won't be able to rent any new clothes until all fees have been paid.

 

9. What if I decide to keep an item for a longer period of time?

Just inform us by calling +65 6100-EXCH (6100-3924). We'll let you keep it for 4 more weeks for an additional fee. Clothes can only be rented for up to 8 weeks. Beyond that, it must be either returned or purchased.

For purchasing individually-rented items:

There's no need to bring the item(s) back. We will just keep the entire amount (which is the purchase price) paid to us in the beginning.

For purchasing items rented under the Basic Instincts, All Essentials and Indulge Your Bulge packages:

Simply pop by our store to top up the difference.

 

10. How can I rent special occasion wear?

You can rent special occasion wear by individual piece or through our Basic Instincts, All Essentials and Indulge Your Bulge packages. However, due to the high cost of these items, they are worth two or more rental credits and may require a deposit. Regular pieces are worth one credit each.

 

11. What if I like the outfit so much and I want to keep it?

If you really like an outfit and wish to keep it, buy it from us! Just inform us by calling +65 6100-EXCH (6100-3924).

For individually-rented items:

There's no need to bring the item(s) back. We will just keep the entire amount (which is the purchase price) paid to us in the beginning.

For items rented under the Basic Instincts, All Essentials and Indulge Your Bulge packages:

Simply pop by our store to top up the difference.

 

12. Can rented clothes be altered?

Minor alterations that do not permanently alter the outfit can be done for a fee. All alterations for rented outfits have to be done by Maternity Exchange's approved tailor.

 

13. Must I wash the clothes before I return them?

To uphold the quality of the clothes we display and make available for rent, all clothes should be returned clean and in excellent condition. Don't worry if they are stained or damaged; there are no additional costs you need to pay. We will simply treat these as purchased items.

For individually-rented items:

There's no need to bring the stained/damaged item(s) back. We will just keep the entire amount (which is the purchase price) paid to us in the beginning.

For items rented under the Basic Instincts, All Essentials and Indulge Your Bulge packages:

Simply pop by our store to top up the difference. Your account will be frozen temporarily and you won't be able to rent any new items until you have done so.

 

14. What is your exchange policy for in-store transactions?

In order to exchange a rentable item, please bring the item a) with the price tag intact, b) within 3 days c) unworn, unwashed, undamaged and unsoiled, and d) together with your sales invoice and credit card receipt (if applicable). Unfortunately, cash refunds will not be entertained. The same policy holds for retail-only items (i.e items not available for rental), except that you have a longer period of 7 days to exchange it.
